A BILL to repeal §18-9A-8a of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended; and to amend said code by adding thereto a new section, designated §18-9A-27, relating to changing the method for determining the amount of funding for regional education service agencies.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That §18-9A-8a of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be repealed; and that said code be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §18-9A-27, to read as follows:

ARTICLE 9A. PUBLIC SCHOOL SUPPORT.

§18-9A-27. Funding for regional educational service agencies.

For the fiscal year beginning on the first day of July, two thousand six, and for each fiscal year thereafter, the funding allocation for regional educational service agencies shall be an amount determined by the legislature. The funding shall be distributed to the regional educational service agencies in accordance with rules adopted by the state board.



NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide that funding for Regional Education service agencies shall be determined by the Legislature.
